Lionel Richie...
Há pouco tempo fiz um género de best of do Lionel Richie. O que não é fácil! Porque comecei a contabilizar músicas dele, depois tive de considerar as dos Commodores. E começou a crescer. É mais um daqueles artistas que é muito bom e deve valer muito a pena vê-lo ao vivo. Felizmente vou tentar vê-lo no Cool Jazz Fest. Quero ver se não me acontece o mesmo que me aconteceu com o Barry White! Que deixei escapar a vez em que ele veio tocar ao casino do Estoril. E passado pouco tempo, infelizmente, deixou-nos.
Lionel Richie é daqueles músicos que ninguém dá grande crédito, mas que é realmente fantástico. Todas as músicas são boas. Pode ter tido um gosto ao nível da roupa um bocadinho duvidoso, mas passou peloa anos 70 e 80. Se bem que isso nos grandes artistas é normal, porque acompanham as tendências. Alguém no outro dia me dizia, Lionel Richie estagnou, o que é que fez de novo! Eu respondo, nem sempre novo é bom. E o que é antigo é bom demais, por isso merec ser ouvido e ouvido... e ouvido. E acho que tem tantas e tão boas antigas que por enquanto não faazem falta as novas!

Esta música é típica dos 80's, bem festiva. E impele todos a dançar pela noite fora. Pois até havia uma discoteca (acho que era o industria, ou outro...) que terminava as noites com este grande tema. Ou então sou eu que sou meio nâif e isso do all night long é outra coisa. Enfim, sou mesmo santinho! Esta fase do Lionel com permanente é muito boa!

Epá o gajo tinha umas dentolas enormes. E não tinha espaço para guardá-los na boca, porque tinha alguma dificuldade em fechar a boca. O bigode também é um clássico. Não sei porquê este interesse em música dos anos 80. Talvez por o meu Pai ser melómano e me contar o que ouvia na altura. Ou então já gostava disto na barriga da minha Mãe! Tudo malta com alta ar de gangster e sempre à noite "Running with the night", mas no fundo é tudo bailarinos e malta para dançar. Que grandes durões estes me saíram!

Clássico, ainda da fase dos Commodores. Mas aqui as lantejoulas e o piano assentam-lhe bem!!! Uí 3 vezes uma lady. O Marco Paulo só queria, uma lady na mesa e uma louca na cama. Isto parece-me mais balada da séria em que se ama porque ela não só é once, twice, mas three times a lady. Esta fase dos Commodores é muito boa musicalmente, talvez a parte dos adereços não seja a mais apropriada. Mas estavam a fazer uma passagem difícil dos anos 70 para os 80. Em que houve muita falta de mau gosto a nível de roupa!!! O que vale é que as balada ficam na memória! Dá-lhe "Leonel". Esta última capa não existe. Foi alguém que se lembrou de fazer pirraça com as 3 ladies!
