Há pessoas que têm inveja, então dizem que é piroso. Que não presta que fazia música fácil, etc...
Como gosto muito de música e de quase todos os géneros, desde que seja boa. E aqui tem muito a ver com aquilo a que chamamos gosto. Mas a música é assim porque nos toca de maneira diferente. Este caso de Neil Diamond. Que vozeirão, algumas músicas antigas mais bregas. Mas depois clássicos que eu não tenho vergonha de dizer que gosto muito. Bem agora em relação ao álbum que coloquei no título. Daqueles que se ouvem de seguida. Para mim começa com a melhor música "If i don't see you again", continua em grande passa pela "One more bite of the apple" que é muito boa! Antes porém um dueto muito bom "Another day (that time forgot)"! A terminar como se quer, em casa antes do anoitecer, "Home before dark". Que qualidade! Hei-de falar mais vezes deste músico fabuloso. Assim dá gosto envelhecer, como o vinho do Porto.

But Diamond, though sixty-seven years old and the oldest recipient of a Number One so far, is no Johnny Cash, turning his unique voice to some well chosen contemporary material. Instead Home Before Dark is a collection of new Diamond songs, and though they might not match the boomers in his back catalogue they are hardly stripped back. These are songs designed to fill large venues alongside the showstoppers in Diamond's still energetic live show. "Pretty Amazing Grace" is in the great tradition of Diamond songs that defy their corniness with sheer catchiness, as is "One More Bite of the Apple" while "Don't Go There" features bracing backing vocals and a delightfully dated wobbly guitar hook.
